The Antique Lighting Webring (established February, 1999) is designed to help in the study and collection of early lighting devices, by making it easy to find relevant sites. If you maintain a club site, a home page, or are in a commercial business primarily devoted to early lighting, please consider joining the webring. There is no cost.
How does it work?

Webring members put a small bit of html code on their site's home page. The html code results in arrows pointing forward to the next webring site, or backward to a previous webring site. By continually clicking on the arrows, the web surfer will eventually visit all the sites and come full circle.

Are the sites always in the same order?

As more sites are added, the webring order will be shuffled, to ensure that no site gets more notice than any other.

Who can join the ring?
You are invited to join the Antique Lighting Webring if:
  • your website is primarily devoted to the study or collection of antique lighting devices;
  • your website has original content (i.e., it's not just a list of links to other pages);
  • you have a valid email address;
  • you are willing to put the Antique Lighting Webring banner in a prominent place on your main page (generally at the bottom).
    Why should you join the ring?

    If your website is devoted to helping people study or collect early lighting devices, the Antique Lighting Webring can help attract more people to your site. Instead of spending time in the search engines fine-tuning phrases, surfers can easily and quickly go from site to site in the ring. By linking our sites together, we can make it easier for the online lighting collector to pursue his or her interests.

    How do you join the ring?
    1)Complete the form below and submit it. Make sure to write down your password! Your site id number and other information will be emailed to you after you complete this form.
    2)Cut and paste the html fragment below making the necessary revisions to the code according to the directions. If you have difficultly adding the html fragment to your page, please contact the Ringmaster for help.
    3) Put the "flames.gif" into your web directory. (Put your arrow on the "flame" picture, click the right mouse button and choose "save image as." Upload the gif from your computer directory to your web directory.) This will save time when your page is loading.
    4) E-mail the Ringmaster that you have completed the first two steps. The Ringmaster will check your code to make sure that it is correctly inserted, check that your web site has antique lighting content and add your site to the webring!
